My HP pavilion dm4 battery only lasts 1 hour and 23 minutes, how long is it supposed to last?

I have an Hp Pavilion dm4 and since the day I bought it, they battery life is approximately 1 hour and 23 minutes. For those who have the same laptop, how long should it last? Is it possible to get a replacement battery rather than getting a new laptop if this is an issue?

1. it must last atleast 2 hrs. and comparing to a new laptop, getting a new battery is always sensible.
2. That is about the normal battery run time on a full featured/size lap top, 1 1/2 hours. You can buy a larger capacity battery by going from a 6 cell to a 9 cell high capacity battery or you can use it plugged in 24/7 with the power adapter keeping the battery maintained at a full charge and when plugged in it runs off the wall outlet A/C power and not on battery. This also prolongs the batteries life as a battery only has so many charge cycles built into it useful life usually about 1500 charges. Read the user guide/manual section on battery for your lap top.
3. According to testing, the battery life is 4:56. Of course, it depends what you are doing as well. Watching streaming video, gaming, etc. will cut down on battery life considerably. You may try turning the brightness down and, if not on the Internet, turn the WIFI adapter off.
