How can i reset my HP Pavilion DV6000 even though it has a cracked screen?

I have a HP Pavilion DV6000. I'd like to reset it, but there is a problem. The screen is cracked and i cannot see anything. I'd like to sell it, but it has personal information on it that i'd like to delete. Should I purchase a new screen and install it OR is there a way i can reset it even though there is a cracked screen? Thanks in advance. Is there someone or a store i can take the laptop to and have them reset it?

1. If you have another monitor you can hook that up to the VGA out connector. Port looks like this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SVGA_port.jpg If this is one of the HP's that have restore feature built in, hit F11 during startup.
