- Yes, you need that from the County Clerk's office. It has nothing to do with where you get married.
- Yes, I believe you need that in all states.
- You can do whatever you want religiously. Just wont mean anything before the law until you get a marriage license.
- Yes, first the license, then the preacher, then you're married. And congratulations to you! Good luck!... ☺
- Hi Dan. It depends upon whether you want your marriage to be REAL, or MERELY SYMBOLIC. If you want it to be real, you need a license. I recommend merely symbolic. Gazebos have little to do with it.
- Where you get married has no bearing on whether or not you need a license. You need one if you want to be legally married. If you don't, you can have a commitment ceremony but it would not be legally recognized. Completely up to you. If you choose to be legally married, you need to decide where the ceremony will take place and contact the county clerk's office for that county to find out the requirements for the license. I will also tell you that if you are a woman planning to change her name to her husband's, you will need the marriage certificate you get after the license is turned in to legally change your name without a court order.
