How do I find out what system fan type my Pavilion dekstop has?
I need to replace the system fan on my HP Pavilion a6150.uk, how do I find out what type of fan it takes? What do I need to know? I have done a bit of research and had a quick look at the fan. I guess the size is important, what about the type of bearing?? and connector? where do I find out what mine has?

- You open the side of your computer, remove the fan, and measure it. There are several common sizes, like 80mm, 92mm, and 120mm, but my guess is that it's a 92mm. Take a look at the connector the fan plugs in to. There are 2 types: a small "3-pin" connector and a bigger "4-pin". 3-pin connectors are usually connected to the motherboard. Many Replacement fans come with both connectors. Don't worry, they are all pretty standard so any brand will do. The bearing type doesn't matter much, some are quieter, some last longer, or so they claim...Just look on newegg.com and pick one the right size and with the right connector.
- because there are so many companies making fake products it is now easy to get hold of a really random component all you need to do is get the model number off the fan and type it inb google, if there's no luck, contact HP because im sure they'll supply one for you thanks max
