Gazebo Designs Knowledge Base
Where could I find a PVC/ plastic arbor/gazebo for the garden? I've seen recycled plastic benches made to look like wood, and loads of wooden gazebos / arbours for the garden - but not what I'm looking for. Where could I find a plastic gazebo or arbour (a seat with trelis over it)? Its for a damp area so wood wouldn't last long. And the recycled plastic benches I've seen on sale look pretty low maintenence if only they came in other designs.
Please help! need to design a gazebo with waterfalls as walls!? I am a garden designer and have been approached by a client to build a gazebo-like structure but the twist is that they want there to be curtains of water falling on all four sides of the structure so they will look out through the water! Has anyone built anything like this before or know how to go about it? any help would be fantastic! Thanks

Where can I find sites of brick patio designs? Hi, we want to make a design using bricks and cement without taking to much of the 350 bricks (could purchase more if need) we bought for our patio (big back yard). Can you guys help to give me some links to where I can see some patio design where they used bricks? Eventually, we want to put a 10x10 gazebo/pergola in that section. Can you guys help to give me some links to where I can see some patio design where they used bricks and cement? P.S. later (budget wise) we want to continue the patio design (pattern) that leads to the driveway. Thanks all!
How to divide a room with a child? I have a large one bedroom and I am a month away from becoming a foster parent. I will be housing children, one at a time, under the age of 4. There is more than plently of room to make 2 areas, but I am not sure how to go about it. I cannot put any permanent walls up, seeing as I rent, but something that had to be anchored or screwed into the wall will be ok because that can be removed and repaired. I have considered a pop up gazebo, if I can find the right size or building a frame that sturdy and hang materials around. Shower rods and pvc piping keep popping in my head, but I have no design. Any ideas?

Can someone help me design a garden on my gravel patch....? We have a sunken hole we want to turn into a 'garden' of some kind. ...the land is very high at the rear of our house so its basically just a big hole in the ground with scrubby grass sides! NOT very pretty - we work from home so expect to have lots of visitors this summer - here are photos - http://myauctionpix.com/membertemplate.php?a_id=1321&bg_id=25....it has to stay gravelled as its also drainage for the whole garden/paddock that slopes into it (thats the concrete well on the right ) - under the gravel is drainage pipes - I'd love a paved area for a gazebo & maybe some kind of water feature - maybe also an american style stone BBQ table with seating area etc - we have a TON of stone as you can see so we can build walls and all sorts for nothing - if you have any ideas i would be grateful as i have NO idea what to do with this area? ( btw - the patio will have wooden rails in a few days so that wil be more 'finished' too....thankyou so much - i really need some inspiration !
Why is my Capricorn friend so clingy? She's always like "Come over! Hurry and get dressed and come over!" then I'll be like "I can't just stop everything, get dressed, and come over right now. I have things to do." and she'll be like "Work?" "What are you doing?" when she doesn't even have anywhere to be going! I like spending time with her, but to be honest, she's a bit simple for my taste like she just sees everything in black and white and she's too focused on being pretty, making money and attracting boys to exceed the ordinary. I mean she's cool and all but she doesn't shine brightly like some people do such as some of my amazing creative, intuitive Pisces friends or my hard working, talented athletic friends, or even just friends who have interesting, quirky things about them. How can I elaborate? If she were a meadow, she would be full of daisies, whereas if some others were a meadow, they would be full of vibrant, beautiful, different flowers of many colors, sizes, and designs, a beautiful lake, a gazebo, and an intriguing trail. She also starts sh*t everywhere she goes trying to demand respect from people who will be in her life for less than 10 minutes. Also, she likes to imitate my style and it annoys me. For her, she doesn't mind 'sharing style' because she doesn't have an intense individuality. She's always encouraging her friends to borrow her clothes and do their hair like hers. That's great! :D But for me, I like to be an individual. I don't like to go around looking like other people. It annoys me when she wants to borrow my clothes and wear them the exact same way I wear them or tries to do her hair like me. Be an individual, stop trying to imitate someone else's creativity! That's how I feel. How can I tell this to her nicely without being rude? I'm a Leo with Sag moon by the way! Also, is there a way I can adapt to her very simple, basic personality? I mean don't get me wrong, she can be fun to be around, but she just doesn't have that incredible depth and magnetic intriguing, interesting quality that I thrive off of when it comes to a friendship! Is there a way I can just...adapt to this ...or no? Thanks! :D
floral garlands, bouqets, and bouteniers/cortsages (sorry for the spelling)? Don't know if anyone has read any of my past posts, but the jist of my story is I had a floral concept designed and now I need to change it. My colors are periwinkle and silver. I want to use silk flowers (and I'm making the bouqets, bouteniers and cortsages) and I'm getting married outside at a gazebo so I need to find flowers that I can get in a garland as well as tie into the bouqets and bouteniers/cortsages, etc. I want simple but beautiful. Any suggestions????

Circumference and Area (Geometry)!? 1.) Janet is designing a garden around a gazebo that is a regular hexagon with side length 6ft. The garden will be a circle that extends 10ft from the vertices of the hexagon. What is the area of the garden? Round to the nearest square foot. 2.) A trundle wheel is used to measure distances by rolling it on the ground and counting its # of turns. If the circumference of a trundle wheel is 1 meter, what is its diameter? 3.) 2 circles have the same center. The radius of the larger circle is 5 units longer than the radius of the smaller circle. Find the difference in the circumference of the 2 circles.
Help in Google SketchUp? We are doing a project that involves us designing a yard, and we need to make certain things in the yard. The ones that troubling me are making a gazebo with a firm foundation, and a bush with a truncated cone planter. If anyone has expertise with SketchUp, please help me with this.
Is this snake poisonous? Pictures included? Hiya all! Over the last year, we have had issues with our next door neighbor. He's a good friend of ours but he completely neglects his back yard. He allows his grass to grow over 2 feet tall and does absolutely no maintenance to his yard. Normally this wouldn't be our business but his back yard is a PERFECT nesting ground for snakes. Over the last year we have had at least 8 snakes come into our yard from his. We have pets which do not like the snakes as well. He also has a gazebo which he has completely neglected, so it's starting to fall apart. I believe the nest is under the gazebo due to the fact that there is so much snake shed skin all around it. Every now and then I will cut his grass for him as a favor. He has allergies, so lawn care isn't so good for him. Almost every single time I am back there cutting his grass, I always end up killing a snake with our trimmer unintentionally. About 40 minutes ago I was out there trimming his yard, and again I ran into a snake, but this snake looks different from the previous ones. The previous ones were all black, but this one has a particular design and has a white belly (Which you can see in the pics I uploaded to photobucket.) We live in a high-end gated community here in Tampa, FL. In the 10 years I've been here, I haven't seen more than 2 random snakes in our community. Though, just from his back yard alone, we've seen lots of them. All over his back yard you can find all of the snakes shed skin. I know for sure that the mother is at least 3 to 4 feet long due to the skins we keep finding. But again, this baby snake looks different then the typical black ones. He's given me the OK to cut off parts of the gazebo to gain access to the snakes nest to get rid of them, but I sure as heck am not going to blindly confront these snakes. Here are a few pictures I uploaded to photobucket. I took these pics about 30 min ago. Thanks in advance! By the way, the snake is dead. The trimmer sliced his neck :( http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/DSCN1233.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/DSCN1234.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/DSCN1235.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/DSCN1237.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b197/sageuvagonyx/DSCN1238.jpg Wow, you guys are incredibly awesome! Thank you so much for the incredibly fast response! Thumbs up for all of you! By the way, I had killed the snake by mistake. I was simply trimming and didn't realize I had killed it until it was too late. I am not kidding when I say this guy's grass is REALLY tall!
Ideas For a Private Wedding? I just got engaged & my future hubby & I have decided that we want to have a private, intimate wedding just for the two of us. We don't want to just go up to city hall, so we are thinking about renting a gazebo and having a ceremony their with our pastor & also a photographer/ videographer so we still have a wedding video & pictures...Im excited about having pictures in a wedding dress :) Now Im looking for opinions about how we should do the ceremony & where- if not in a gazebo. And also what could we do afterwards that would be a sweet private 'reception' for just us? We are thinking about designing a small cake for two or something, not sure yet, really need creative ideas to make our special day very sentimental & intimate. We live in Omaha, NE and our wedding will be on October 20th, 2010....129 days!!! :) Thank you sooo much !!!!

can you please tell me the name of this scary N64 game? this was an incredible nintendo 64 game! but i only remember this 1 part i played.. in it you play a little girl with black hair and a schoolgirl uniform like the girl on that anime Blood+ only a little bit younger, and you have magic powers or something, and it's dark, and there's a full moon, and creepy looking trees and stuff everywhere, and a gazebo, and you walk along killing zombies and stuff and come across this castle, and there's this dragon or demon or something and i can't remember anything after that until i get into the castle... and the inside of the castle it's really cool, the windows have pretty blood red curtains on them, tied back with ropes (gold, i think) and red carpet with a pretty swirly border design (i think the swirly border design was either light red, or gold) and it had a long hall and lots of rooms, many of those rooms were empty... and pretty much all of them looked the same, (or mabie i was just going into the same rooms over and over again...i'm not sure...) it pretty much looked like a fancy hotel with everything decked out in red...and i think there were vampires in the castle... i think there was also demons, and werewolves and zombies and ghosts.... and that's all i could remember... and the first and last time i played it, the year was either 1998 or 1999 and i was born in 1994, so i was too young to read the name of it... and i only ever got to play the N64 when my uncle brought it over when he went to school with a whole lot of other 64 games.... please help?
Need to calculate foundation for pillars? Putting up a gazebo/patio with an I beams salvaged from demo project. They are 42" tall, 45' long, 12 1/2 " wide. Very old & strong with riveting to hold it together. Great condition. Want to use the beams to be support for patio area with a small room in "attic". Will use four pillars/columns to support structure. Not yet final on pillar design but would like to use man made concrete columns with interior support like I beam or other suggestion. Washington DC style blocks on this site is my idea: http://drstoneworks.com/columns.htm . How do I calculate bases for the columns? Working on Iowa riverbottom with gumbo, shallow water level, no bedrock. Will be using Ludowici tiles for roof. Expect to have 30 feet width between I beams to make covered area 1350 sq ft. The beams are estimated to weigh 8 to 10k each. Ludowici tiles are approx 4 lbs ea. Want to use hip roof design. Thanks for any ideas

I am thinking of Brown, Pink and Red?Any thoughts on this? I have changed the colors around so much because I cant think of ways to make it all work! I was thinking brown for linens and pink and red for the flowers and the candles a mix of the three colors. The girls dresses could be pink with brown accents and the guys could wear a vest with brown as the base and pink or red in the design? I was just looking for some input on if other people would find this appealing or not. I know it is our day and that is what it will be but I dont want it to be tacky, so If you like it cool if not maybe some suggestions would help out! I am thinking of a brown cake with red and pink flowers(fresh ones) Wedding will be May 30,2009 and the reception will be at a hall with a garden setting and gazebo with a small fountain. Thanks All!

Im lost, I really need advice? My fiance & I have decided that we want a private wedding for just the two of us. I have always wanted this since I was little, I love the idea of it being very intimate & a private memory we just share & conveniently he has always wanted to elope! We will have been together for 5 years in a few months & I've always wanted to get married in the fall, so instead of waiting another year, we're going to get married October 20th, 2010 ( 127 days to go!!! ) I need help with wedding ideas. We both agree we want it filmed & we want a photographer there. Now we want it to be just us, but we still want it to be wedding like. ( not just go up to city hall) The idea we have is to have a ceremony in a gazebo with us & our pastor, with a string quartet, flower & candles everywhere, it will be perfect-just like my wonderful future husband aka my best friend is =) We want to do something together after the ceremony & before we go to italy, kinda like a reception, but we have no idea what to do. The only thing we thought of was designing a small cake for two, but I really need more ideas. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this & give your opinion :) oh, the wedding will take place at sunset in Omaha, NE.
Need help with house-plan layout.? Not sure if this is possible but what I'd like to have designed is: 1st floor indoor: Living room that is visible from the kitchen, large kitchen with island and peninsula. Sunroom, Den, and Round Dining Room. Also an attached two car garage Outside first floor would be wrap around porch with attached gazebo. 2nd floor would overlook the living room, small loft area that leads into the bedroom, bedroom would lead into large bathroom. Bathroom to lead into large walkin closet. Also to have another loft that would overlook half of the den. Two decks as well on the second floor, one coming from the main loft that goes to the front of the house and one from the bedroom that goes from the side to the house to the back or even just the back of the house. Is this possible? :)
Have any bird owners ever seen an aviary design like this? I would love to build an indoor/outdoor aviary that would look like a well crafted piece of furniture that could be freestanding against a wall in my living room and then have a connector of some sort to an outdoor gazebo style aviary on the other side of the wall which would be on my front porch. It would need to have some sort of lock on the connector so I could prevent them from going outside when it's too cold and it must "seal" properly so that cold air isn't coming in. About 5 feet tall on decorative legs or casters would be about perfect and it would need to be easy to keep clean (pull out trays and such on the bottom).
ALTERNATIVES TO A GARAGE OR CAR PORT, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Hi, I'm a product design student about to go into the final year and for our major project we have been given an open brief where we have to identify a problem and come up with a way to fix it. The problem I've been looking at are car shelters. As the owner of a soft top and a VW beetle currently undergoing restoration, this is an issue very close to home. Getting planning permission for a garage and finding the money to build one surely has to be a problem that many have faced in the past as well as actually finding the space to put one. The solution that I'm hoping to design would be a kind of car port or preferably a kind of temporary garage that can be put up on the front lawn or on the driveway without taking up too much space. I'm hoping it'll be big enough that users could store tools and parts within it but be able to pack away and fit into a car boot (since when you buy it, it would have to fit in the car to get it home!) The idea being that it'd a better way of protecting the car inside from the elements and possibly even thieves. It'd hopefully be a better looking and more effective than the tarpaulin shrouds and gazebos I've come across people using already. Now, my question to you is, if such a product could be made at an affordable price and in such a way that any user could put it together without an 'expert', would this be something that interests you? If not then how come and if so what else would you want from this kind of product? Any useful feedback I get from this will be used as part of my degree research so thanks for the help! I think that people who've answered so far may have missed the point I'm trying to get at. The existing types of car shelter I've come across so far are flimsy structures made primarily of plastic sheet that could easily be cut into, meant only to protect from weather. If anyone could provide an example of a SOLID, SECURE structure, that would be far more helpful to my research.
Is it ever safe to change your business name at the same time you are relocating? I have a hot tub business which will have been open for three years when we move. We have also pondered changing the business name. Our Current name is Sunset Spas and Leisure. We are thinking of changing to Maui Backyard because: 1) It's shorter and easy to remember 2) Our main product is spas, but we also sell gazebos, saunas, pool tables, and bbq islands. That's why we've had the "and Leisure". 3) It makes for a better web address than our current www.sunsetspasandleisure.com 4) We don't seem to have much brand equity so far. People know us mostly by our location, which unfortunelty we have to change. We already want to re-design our logo, Moving locations or changing our logo means we will have to put money into new signs, business materials, etc. If we are already pouring money into changing, should we change it all in one fail swoop? Or, would it be worth it to move first, then change the logo, the change again to the new name?
